Moxibustion

Moxibustion (also called mugwort) is an herb that has a warming effect. The heat generated by burning moxa leaves directs heat energy to acupuncture points, which stimulates circulation and the flow of qi and blood.

Unlike acupuncture and herbs, moxibustion is often used to treat cold conditions and low immune systems. It warms the meridians and disperses coldness, making it very effective for painful conditions caused by yang deficiency or coldness syndrome, such as coughs and asthma caused by lung yang deficiency, and stomach pain caused by spleen and stomach yang deficiency. Similarly, moxibustion is also suitable for arthritis, joint pain, knee and leg pain caused by wind-cold and dampness, and warm the uterus in infertility.
